Demons, also known as "Tanar'ri," are outsiders native to the chaotic evil-aligned planes, particularly the Abyss. They are ferocity personified, and will attack any creature just for the fun of it -- even other demons. Note the difference between demons, chaotic evil creatures, and devils, who are lawful evil. These two types of fiends eternally battle each other in the Blood War.
Demon Traits
Most, but not all, demons possess the following traits:
- Immunity to electricity and poison.
- Resistance to acid 10, cold 10, and fire 10.
- Summon Tanar'ri (Sp): Many demons share the ability to summon others of their kind (the success chance and type of demon summoned are noted in each monster description). Demons are often reluctant to use this power until in obvious peril or extreme circumstances. In NWN2, this ability always summons a Succubus.
